Questions people ask
Don't see yours? Ask Victoria during the assessment, or call (805) 970-2936.
How fast does the text go out?
Seconds after a call ends unanswered or drops, once texting is switched on for your number.
What does it cost?
Missed-call text-back comes with Victoria answering your texts and messages, along with your calls around the clock. The free 2-minute assessment works out your price from your calls. If you're not happy in the first 30 days, we refund your first monthly payment.
Will people know they're texting with an AI?
Yes. Her first text introduces her as your business's AI assistant, and if someone asks who they're texting with, she says so again.
Does it work in Spanish?
Yes. When a customer writes back in Spanish, Victoria replies in Spanish and the conversation stays in Spanish. The first text goes out in the wording and language you approved.
More questions (4)Fewer questions
Do the texts come from my number?
Not necessarily. They come from a registered local business number, and on the setup call we look at your phone setup and where that registration stands. Customers keep calling the number they already know, and calls reach Victoria through the forwarding we set up with you.
What if it's an emergency?
Your urgent-call rules work on calls, so the text asks anyone with something urgent to call back. When they do, Victoria answers and puts the call through to you if it matches your rules.
Will it book into my scheduling software?
Bookings made by text land in your calendar like any other appointment. Use other scheduling software? Mention it on the setup call and we'll check the connection first.
What does setup take from me?
One setup call with Nathaniel, after the free 2-minute assessment: your hours, the jobs Victoria can book, your urgent-call rules and the wording of your first text. Victoria answers your calls once setup is done, and missed-call text-back follows once the carriers approve your number.
The details
In short
Missed-call text-back sends a text to anyone whose call ends before your business answers.
Victoria, the AI receptionist from Cloud Conquer AI, runs it: when a caller hangs up while the phone is ringing, or a call drops, she texts them, answers their questions by text in English or Spanish, books the job when they're ready and sends you a summary.
If Victoria answers your line, those are the calls that still slip through.
If your own staff answer first, it also covers the calls they miss while they're busy with someone in front of them.
You talk it through on the setup call with our founder, Nathaniel Ross, from our base in Santa Barbara.
How missed-call text-back works
- A call ends before anyone answers: the caller hangs up while it rings, the call drops, or your staff can't get to it.
- Within seconds, the caller gets your first text, the one you approved on the setup call.
- If they reply, Victoria keeps the conversation going by text, answering questions about your services and hours and offering open times.
- When they pick a time, the job goes on your calendar, and the booking is confirmed by text.
- If what they need is urgent, the text asks them to call back, so your urgent-call rules can apply.
- Afterward, the conversation and the booking show up in a summary to you.
Who it's for
Businesses where a person answers first: the counter at an auto shop, the front desk at a salon, the office at a property management company.
When the phone rings while they're helping someone in front of them, the calls they miss get a text.
For any business, it also reaches callers who hang up while the phone is still ringing, and calls that drop halfway.
A callback an hour later lands while the customer is at work, driving, or already talking to another company.
A text can be answered from a parking lot or a break room, in a few words, whenever they get a minute, and it leaves a written record of the time offered and the address given.
Industry guides
What the first text says
You get one first text, written with you and approved on the setup call: your wording, in your language.
It introduces Victoria as your business's AI assistant, acknowledges the missed call and asks urgent callers to call back. For example:
“Hi, this is Victoria, your business’s AI assistant. We just missed your call. If it's urgent, please call us back; otherwise, reply here and I can help you by text.”
Compared with your other options
- Voicemail: the caller may leave a message or may call the next listing, and you find out which when you check.
- Calling back yourself: works when you get to it before the customer has found someone else.
- An answering service with human operators: answers more of the calls you can't get to, which leaves fewer to follow up by text.
- A basic auto-text tool: a low monthly cost for one canned message per missed call; the reply then waits for you.
- Victoria: answers your calls in the first place, and when one still ends before anyone picks up, texts back in seconds, keeps the conversation going and books the job. Missed-call text-back comes when Victoria answers your texts too.
Text registration and your number
Missed-call text-back sends from a registered local business number.
U.S. carriers require local 10-digit numbers that send automated business texts to be registered under a program called A2P 10DLC, and they filter or block texts from numbers that aren't.
Registration can take from about a week to two or three weeks (Twilio).
That means missed-call text-back starts when your number's registration clears, which can be after Victoria is already answering your calls.
Answering calls doesn't wait; texting runs on the carriers' timeline.
Missed-call text-back reaches callers on phones that can receive texts, so a caller on a landline won't get one.
